My first ever houseplant purchase.

I've had plants before, most recently a long-suffering lemon cypress that started out life in a gift basket and ended up as a bonsai. There's the geranium I started as a cutting in grade school. But they've all been acquired, not actually chosen. So this is my new Peace Lily. It's been less than a week, but we're already getting along well. It has quite the personality, for a plant.
