Untitled photo

This shipping container has been in place for many, many years – I've photographed it before, but can't remember when. Maybe a decade ago? It's been in its current spot, in a little back lot about a ten minute walk from my home, for longer than I've known about it.

This photo was taken on Fujicolor Superia X-Tra 400, a long name for a film that Fuji says is "Ideal for general use with compact zoom lens cameras." I don't own a camera like that, so I'll agree with their assessment. I've never been a big fan of Fuji's colour films, but I'm still sorry to hear that they've discontinued their Pro 400H. A clog washed away by the sea diminishes us all.

It also worries me a bit that my favourite Fujifilm film, Acros, isn't even mentioned on the Fujifilm global film site. But they've already discontinued it once only to bring it back, so perhaps it's safe, and 400H will also have a second chance with a simpler manufacturing process.

This hasn't really been the year for it, but I'm cautiously optimistic even in the face of bad news.
