The barren snow and rocky outcroppings mark the beginning of our route. This will be a six-day journey over the cold wastes.

Treacherous jagged terrain makes for slow progress. The wind has sculpted this unforgiving environment of ice.

The valleys become filled with drifting snow and loose debris, giving no reprieve from laborious travels. The wind, at least, is lessened here.

Day four. Fighting our way to the top of Ploughdriver’s Pass. This is where we lost Sebastian.

To venture across this shifting landscape is a seemingly impossible task, yet we know it is one that has been done for generations.

Day six. We have nearly arrived. One final ridge to cross before dusk, and a vibrant town awaits to welcome weary travellers.
