This is a remedial project – the photos were taken in 2012, but they're posted here as I prepare for the 2020 auto show season. This gives the benefit of hindsight to the photos, but it's hardly needed, since they stand out so starkly from more recent trips.

It's hard to believe now, but there was a time when cars were made in different colours.

And it wasn't just the exotic cars, either. Actual cars that people might buy and use could be had in different colours, and the dealers actually showed this off as a feature, as if they were proud of it or something. These days the auto show displays might include a little paint chip wall somewhere at the back, just in case someone wants something in a hue, but all the cars being shown are in different tones of pavement grey.

I miss those days, when both parking lots and auto shows had bolder visual interest.
